About MeeplePick

MeeplePick helps you find the right board game for your table — by player count, play time, age and complexity — without reading twenty reviews first. Every page answers the practical questions: how many players, how long, what age, how heavy.

Where the data comes from

Game data (player counts, play times, minimum age, complexity weight, community ratings and rating counts) comes from the BoardGameGeek community — the largest public board-game database in the world. We use a publicly released data dump and apply a quality filter: only games with at least 200 community ratings are listed, which keeps the database at roughly 7,500 genuinely played games rather than every prototype ever uploaded.

We never fabricate a number. If a field is missing in the source data, the page shows “—” rather than a guess. Complexity labels (Light through Heavy) are direct translations of the BGG community weight score: under 1.5 is Light, 1.5–2.5 Medium-light, 2.5–3.5 Medium, 3.5–4.2 Medium-heavy, above that Heavy.

How rankings work

List pages (like best 4-player games) rank by community rating weighted by the number of ratings, so a 7.9 from 50,000 players outranks an 8.2 from 300. That mirrors how confident you can actually be in a score.

How we make money

MeeplePick is free. Game pages link to Amazon searches for the game; as an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you. That’s the whole model — no paywalls, no sponsored rankings. Rankings are computed from community data and are never sold.
